The Cottonwood Economic Development Authority (EDA) has launched the Business Improvement Fund to assist local businesses in Cottonwood, Minnesota, with repairing or enhancing their physical buildings. This initiative offers limited grants of up to $2,500 per business and is aimed at supporting the upkeep and visual improvement of commercial, industrial, and other business-zoned properties within the city.

Eligibility Criteria/General Requirement:
Business must be located in Cottonwood, MN
Applicants must either own the property or have written permission from the property owner
Applicants must be current on all city loans, property taxes, and utility payments
Business must be in good standing with the Minnesota Secretary of State (if applicable)
Property must be zoned as commercial, industrial, or within a designated Business District
Grant Requests Not Accepted:
Applicants who are behind on taxes, utility bills, or city loan repayments
Properties not zoned for commercial, industrial, or business use
Applications without property owner consent (if not owned by applicant)
Application Deadline: July 25, 2025 (close of business)
Review Date: August 5, 2025 at 5:30 PM (Government Center)
Grant Amount: Up to $2,500 per business
