The Thorpe Foundation funds organizations dedicated to supporting vulnerable seniors (aged 55+) in aging with dignity, independence, and connection.
Nonprofit
The Foundation supports efforts that:
Provide home and community-based services that enable seniors to remain in their chosen residence as long as possible
Reduce social isolation by fostering social connections, skill-building, and creativity
Engage seniors meaningfully in their communities
Use reciprocal, multigenerational programs that foster empathy and build relationships across generations
Additional Grantmaking Information:
Priority is given to organizations or programs that serve community members with low incomes (using benchmarks such as AMI, SNAP, Free and Reduced Lunch, or the Federal Poverty Rate).
Geographic focus includes nonprofit organizations located in and/or primarily serving residents of Minneapolis and its first- and second-ring suburbs.
