Ameriprise Financial provides grants to support programs in three focus areas: Meeting Basic Needs (hunger, shelter, and adult self-sufficiency), Supporting Community Vitality (community development, cultural enrichment, and disaster relief), and Volunteer-Driven Causes within the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

Eligibility Criteria/General Requirement: Applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations whose programs align with at least one of the three grant-making focus areas. Applicants must submit a complete application, including a Federal 990 form and a financial audit or review completed within the last two years in compliance with GAAP. Organizations must demonstrate measurable results, financial stability, and comply with Ameriprise Financial’s non-discrimination policy. Prior grantees must also provide required reporting.

Non-Eligible Programs/Organizations: Funding is not provided for capital campaigns, multi-year commitments, private foundations, international organizations, political initiatives, medical research, or religious programs. Additionally, funding is not available for sponsorships, sporting tournaments, camps, fraternal organizations, or personal needs.
