Overview
The Finish Line Youth Foundation (FLYF) supports diverse and underserved communities through its Louder Than Words Grant Program. As the philanthropic arm of Finish Line, FLYF is dedicated to advancing diversity, inclusion, and equity by funding organizations that positively impact communities across the country.

Each grant cycle has a different focus area, ensuring that various community needs are addressed throughout the year. The four cycles are:

  • Cycle 1 (Due March 15): Far East Side of Indianapolis

  • Cycle 2 (Due May 15): Health & Wellness

  • Cycle 3 (Due July 15): Workforce Development

  • Cycle 4 (Due October 15): Safe Communities

Projects That Qualify for Funding

Cycle 1: Far East Side of Indianapolis

  • Programs and initiatives that support the local community.

Cycle 2: Health & Wellness

  • Programs emphasizing personal development, physical activity, mental health, and healthy lifestyles

  • Scholarships providing full or partial funding to participate in programs offered by the organization

Cycle 3: Workforce Development

  • Programs that emphasize higher education, vocational training, and career development

  • Scholarships providing full or partial funding to participate in workforce training programs

Cycle 4: Safe Communities

  • Programs focusing on public safety, building trust between communities and police, and criminal justice reform

  • Improvements, renovations, or construction of existing/new facilities to enhance community safety

  • Emergency needs caused by natural disasters or unforeseen circumstances that impact service delivery

Eligibility Criteria
Organizations must:

  • Be registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit

  • Serve a diverse community, with 51% or more of participants being people of color

  • Demonstrate a commitment to delivering culturally competent services

  • Support initiatives that address racial disparities and discrimination

Ineligibility
The Foundation will not fund:

  • Political campaigns or efforts to influence public officials

  • Organizations that unlawfully discriminate based on race, religion, income, gender, disability, or national origin

  • Programs that promote specific religious teachings or fund church construction

  • Fraternal, veteran, or labor organizations

  • Foundations affiliated with for-profit entities

  • Endowments, beauty/talent contests, individuals, or research projects

  • Travel expenses for trips or conferences
