Overview
Grants are available to USA-based nonprofit organizations to support international projects that improve the standard of living, address poverty, and provide food security in eligible countries. New applicants are required to submit a letter of inquiry before submitting a full application. Funded activities may include sustainable agriculture, economic development, and basic needs services.

Status (Profit/Nonprofit): Nonprofit

Eligibility Criteria/General Requirement

  • Applicant must be a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) public charity.

  • Project must be located in one of the following countries: Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, El Salvador, or Nicaragua.

  • Recipient organizations must have staff or partners on the ground and actively involve the local community in project planning and implementation.

  • Projects must align with one or more of the following LASC focus areas:

    • Food Support, Security, and Sustainability: Emergency feeding, subsistence farming, aqua farming, beekeeping, greenhouse gardens, etc.

    • Social Entrepreneurship & Microdevelopment: Community-based food-related initiatives that reduce poverty and build skills.

    • Poverty Relief: Projects like clean water access, improved sanitation, animal husbandry, and housing development.

  • Application is by personal invitation only.

  • Not eligible for funding: Schools, churches, healthcare initiatives, government agencies, for-profit entities, individuals, or non-501(c)(3) organizations.
